Fund Raising Projects
Christmas Tree Sale
Purchase and sell 500-550 Christmas Tress and accessories
to the public. This sale is held on the first two weekends
in December.
InkJet Recycling
Collect used printer cartridges from members and send
them in for rebates.

Golf Tournament
Started in 2006, this annual tournament is hoped to
become a major fundraiser for the club. Members are
asked to recruit sponsors in addition to working the
event. Held in May.
Journey for Sight
This is the district Journey for sight Walk-A-Thon
held in April of every year along the scenic canal in
Windsor Locks . Walkers solicit sponsors for their walk,with
the proceeds being split between our club and D-23B.
Lobster Sale
This annual event takes place around Fathers Day in
June. Members are asked to pre sell Lobsters in addition
to working a shift at the sale.

LaBonnes Market receipts are collected and sent in
for rebates

Fall Festival
Hot Dogs and Hamburgers are prepared and sold to the
public at this annual Town Festival. Food booth is setup
by members.
Mints
Mints are purchased and set out in local business
establishments for purchase. This is a year to year
event.

Sight Saver Day
Members stand at busy areas of town collecting donations
from the public in April. Funds raised are donated to
CLERF (CT Lions Eye Research Foundation)

Service Projects
Al Dodge Young Citizen Service Award
Nominations for outstanding local youth are solicited
for nomination for this award. A committee reviews the
nominees and awards the winners at a dinner.

Diabetes Awareness
Work with people requesting diabetes related assistance.
Help get the word out to members and the public on symptoms
and dangers of Diabetes.

Fishing Derby
This event is usually held in May for the Special
Citizens of our town. Fishing for Trout is the highlight,
followed by a lunch prepared and served by Lions.

Diabetes Shootout
Lions set up at a Par 3 hole at Crestbrook Park and
the Watertown Golf Club soliciting chances for a ‘closest
to the hole’ award given at each course at the
conclusion of the event. Proceeds go to Diabetes Research
and Juvenile Diabetes Research.

Assist the public with hearing and sight related request.
Work with the schools to offer aid to those in need.

Assist the public with LifeLine related request.

Seniors Pancake Breakfast
Plan and promote a pancake breakfast for the senior
citizens of Watertown. Usually held in October.

Memorial Scholarships
Work directly with high schools offering scholarships,
one for a two year technical school and another for
a four-year school. Review all applications and make
final approval for two $1,000 scholarships.

Peace Poster Contest
Order the poster kit from LCIF and give to schools
with instructions. Select winner , and then submit to
district for judging.

Easter Food Baskets
Coordinates with area churches for a list of those
in need of food at Easter.
